Kiera's Journey to Teaching Social Studies to New Generation Learners

Today in class we presented out "Digital Me" projects. I liked how we all had a different digital me to present to the class unlike how in science methods last semester we all did a flipgrid. Although those were different from what i'm used to they got very repetitive after 7 or 8 people presented theirs so having different digital me presentations this semester in social studies methods was a lot better! I did a prezi which was a lot of fun to create. I had worked with prezi in High School so i was excited to work with it again since i haven't touched it since being in college. When i opened prezi it was a little different than what i remembered it being like from the last time i worked with it. Overall though, it was a ton of fun to play around with and work with! In my prezi I talked about my pets, my siblings and family, and then hobbies I had. I included lots of pictures of everything which I think the rest of the class enjoyed that I did that! Today, January 22nd we had our first class meeting! I don't know exactly how i feel about this class. I really am not a fan of social studies at all but we'll see if Dr. Smirnova can change my views on that or not. However I am very excited to start to get back in the field with the children!!  I look forward to constantly being in the field with the kids so this will be fun!!! Dr. Smirnova changed the eclass system so it isn't so overwhelming and makes me feel more confident going into the semester!
